Tabeth Natasha Chingwaru is a dynamic communications specialist, mobile journalist, and social impact advocate dedicated to sustainable development, gender equality, and inclusive community engagement. As the Communications and Media Director of the Global South Urban Resilience Forum (GSURF), she spearheads the forum's strategic messaging, media partnerships, and digital storytelling to amplify climate and urban resilience initiatives across rapidly urbanizing regions.
Tabeth has a rich background in driving advocacy and communication for international development and human rights. She serves as the Founding Director of the Youth Initiative For Quality Education and has led communications at Leonard Cheshire Disability Zimbabwe, focusing on social inclusion and disability rights. A passionate champion for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), her global advocacy includes serving as a Global Youth Ambassador for Theirworld and a Global Youth Panelist for Plan International UK, where she engaged global stakeholders on institutional accountability and inclusion.
Holding a degree in Journalism from the University of Zimbabwe, Tabeth bridges the gap between academic research, community realities, and media strategy. At GSURF, she leverages her expertise in media production and stakeholder engagement to translate complex urban policy and climate research into impactful narratives, ensuring that context-sensitive solutions for the Global South reach and inspire policymakers, practitioners, and local communities alike.
